Why the Weather Vein?
- I believe in the transformative power of art. My mission is to connect individuals and communities through creative expression and environmental awareness. I consider myself a social practice artist and feel that the creative process and the interactions each project generates are just as, if not more important than the final product.
- I created the Weather Vein as a way for people to pay closer attention to the internal weather of their own emotions. When we take time to bring awareness to this, it may change how we choose to interact with our external environment.
- As an artist, I find great joy in communicating the relationship I feel between myself and the natural world. My goal is to try and capture the essence of plants and animals, and how humans have a reciprocal relationship with their environment.
Meet Our Creative Founder
- With a Certificate in Digital Arts, Stephanie currently works as a freelance artist. She believes that everyone possesses an artistic spark. To share her passion for expressive arts, wellness, and nature, she started The Weather Vein.
- Stephanie also benefits from a regular mind/body practice. With certifications from nationally accredited organizations and over twenty years of experience in the fitness and mindy-body industry, Her goal is to inspire others to explore their internal emotions through connecting movement with art and mindfulness.
- As a Certified Pennsylvania Master Naturalist and Steward of The Pennsylvania Forests, Stephanie volunteers at several local organizations like Clearwater Conservancy and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. She enjoys hiking in her spare time, finding inspiration in nature.
