This workshop inspires wellness through integrating movement, body awareness and the Arts. Combining hands-on creativity, artistic expression and movement enables participants to destress while also having fun in a safe environment. Whether practicing for health, stress management or simply for the sheer pleasure of it, participants gain a sense of inner calm and stronger body awareness.
During this workshop participants will be guided through a series of yoga postures, meditations and breath work specifically designed to balance our chakras. Using chakra specific music, chants, mantras, colors and fragrances, we will encourage further energy healing. As we move through various postures and breath work, we learn to cultivate and trust our own internal body-mind system. This inspires growth and change physically, mentally and spiritually.
During this practice participants will be guided through a series of postures, meditations and breath work specifically designed to encourage complete relaxation. Each pose is held for several minutes and deeply supported by props – blankets, bolsters, and blocks. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome
Experience the healing powers of nature through forest bathing. This technique has been scientifically proven to have many health and wellness benefits. The goal of forest bathing is to live in the present moment while immersing your senses in the sights and sounds of nature. Through engaging in various activities such as mindful walking, embodied awareness, finding a sit spot, sharing circles and a closing tea ceremony, participants will gain a more authentic connection to their true self.
Qigong literally means “life energy work” -- a way of working with the life energy. It is a healing art, a way of cultivating physical, spiritual, and emotional health, that originated in China about seven thousand years ago. Qigong can be described as a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one's mental and physical health. This wellness workshop will introduce participants to the fundamental principles of any qigong practice. These include movement, breath work, and self-massage.
Join us for this supportive and fun filled series. Using uplifting music, storytelling and the expressive arts, together, we explore breathing, movement and meditation through play. This workshop can be adapted for preschool through elementary school aged children.
